Why is this so hard to do? Are we relegated to buying only $$$ NOS rectifiers when the Sovteks in our Z's fizzle out? (I'm not looking for an answer that includes Weber Coppercaps. I'm only interested in vacuum tube rectifiers).

I just realized the answer: It's those strong-armed lobby-ists working for those huge NOS cartels! Of course!

Hmmmm...guess there is no answer for this one... Well sort of.... It has taken the Russian and Chinese companies some years to perfect some of the popular power and pre amp tubes to the point where they are pretty good tubes . I feel that the quality of the rectifier tubes will probably get better too , maybe not NOS good but better .

And I haven't heard that much good stuff about JJ rectifiers except from what Bob at Eurotubes claims on his website. Their/his EL84s are terrific. Wish their rectifiers were as good.

Well I can't say if JJ , Sovtek or the Chinese offerings are any better or worse then one another . I understand that there may have been some batches of Sovtek's that had some shorting issues a couple years ago but other then that nothing that stands out in any of them giving problems or lasting longer then the other . Again , I think in time you will see better current production rectifier tubes offered by these companies .
