Can anyone tell me what the significance is when the glass part of a tube becomes loose from the plastic base? The tube still works even tho it is loose.
Thanks! -Stan

Happens often, especially on older tubes. If you are careful its usually fine, but if you want to glue it back down, super glue down on both sides of the tube where the glass meets the bass will secure it permenantly.

DC here! I think Myles mentioned: Antique Electronic Supply at: www.tubesandmore.com/Those guys even have repair kits for just this issue - haven't checked it out personally though. Cheers: Dixiechicken!
