Do I need to have my maz sr re-biased if I replace the power tubes? I am heading on tour next week, and I want to buy a backup set of power tubes. If something goes wrong during a show, can I replace the power tubes without re-biasing? Will this cause any harm to the amp?
Thanks.

MAZ is cathode biased, so just plug and play. No biasing necessary.

Man, All I gotta say is, my power tubes must have been really worn down-- I put new Groove Tube EL-84's in my Maz Sr tonight, and holy f**k, the blanket has been removed. I didn't realize how much difference a fresh set of power tubes could make. I bought the amp used, so who knows the last time the dude changed those. I have never seen such a drastic change in performance before. Wow.

That's pretty common with EL84 tubes. Keep a fresh set on hand and if you notice your tone starting to slip a little, pop those new 84's in and that usually solves the problem.

Just use a balanced / matched set!

Of all of the power tubes out there EL84's have about the shortest life. I hear its about 300 hours in a Maz, so keep some extra sets around.

I love it when I read on Ebay:
Maz Jr. for auction. MINT. Just got checked out. New tubes and rebiased by my amp tech.
