I've had this amp 6 days and am truly amazed at the tones and wide versatility of this amplifier. It could be used for Rock, Country, Blues, Jazz, BeBop, Rap ( is there any guitar in that ), even Metal with a pedal.....Uses are endless.. I boldly predict that this amp will be one of Dr Z's top sellers before it's over. I will even go so far as to say a few lesser selling models will be discontinued due to the wild popularity of this Therapy. ( We all know it happens from time to time.....it's probably about that time ) I have not heard a word from anyone.... Just my BOLD prediction. Jus' sayin.... Congratulations on your newest invention Doc.

The funny thing is that, while I still don't have a Z-Wreck (yet!!) to compare the Therapy to, I have played them and have a pretty good feeling that the two amps are very similar animals. You could say the same great things about the 'Wreck that are being said about the Therapy. The main difference is the cost and that might be the deal-changer in the end. Getting tone like the Therapy for well under $2000 is the deal of a lifetime.
Z-Wreck and Therapy owners chime in here....but from memory I think the Z-Wreck is a little bolder, a little more percussive, a little louder, and has more of an upper mid bump. Maybe on "comfort" the dynamics and loudness differences are even closer.

You're on to something Mark. So far, I am leaning toward top three models. IMO of course.
1. Therapy 2. Sti/angRay 3. Z-Wreck

I'm thinking that if the Stangray GT had gone into production with a master volume we would have a smaller selection right now?

Therapy for well under $2000 is the deal of a lifetime. Therapy is a world class amp at a price that is still within reach.

Reading how effective the MV is on this amp really has me thinking hard about it. Just when I settled in with my Maz8. Crap.

Reading how effective the MV is on this amp really has me thinking hard about it. Just when I settled in with my Maz8. Crap. I hear those Maz 8's are bringing top dollar these days... That was a bad joke....sorry Frank. But yes...the MV is awesome. I thought the MV on my Maz Jr was great. But this thing is on another plane. It's got power if you need it...which I like, but if you don't need it...no problem. Still sounds great. Matter a fact, that's the only thing I didn't like about the Maz 8....no reserve in the tank. But that's not what it was designed for. Oh, and thanks for my new handle~

Aside from all the features it has , I like having an amp that I can bring Up to the sweet spot instead of an amp that I get to the sweet spot and have to bring Down with an attenuator or less efficient speaker etc. It serves it's purpose well. BUT - one of the things that appeals to me with the Therapy is I could go both directions , and it still sounds killer from what I have been able to discern. I'm pretty sure one of these will appear at my doorstep down the road.

I'm pretty sure one of these will appear at my doorstep down the road. There is more than one sweet spot in the Therapy..... WAY more! That MV is magical, and the interaction between the MV and V is not a "sweet spot" but a linear range of tonal possibilities to die for Not knocking the Maz range at all, but there is just no comparison with my (ex) Maz18 - the PPIMV of the Therapy is in a different league altogether........
