I had a great gig this past weekend...the largest yet that our band has played! It was a biker bash and one hell of a party. There were two bands on the bill for this event on Saturday...both of us from the same town. They are a hard rock band...us, more dance type classic rock...anyway...the first band to go on were my friends...solid, super tight and well rehearsed! Great musicians. They got the crowd primed for us. This was our first ever time here as well...this was their third or fourth I think. Anyway, as we are setting up, I take the Maz out and get it plugged in, get my guitars and pedal board set up and start tuning...off goes the tuner and I strum a chord or two...soundguy was on stage and immediately loves my tone! He said, this will be perfect!! The first band's guitar player used two Mesa 412 cabs and a Marshall head. Sounded great but he liked mine better...I thought this was a real nice compliment to my little amp rig. It certainly rocked the house, we had the crowd just hopping!!! They loved us and we got an invite back to next year's party! Not only was the sound guy happy...I was too!

Awesome!
I've had similar experiences - Showing up with a small, 1x12 after a band with a half (or full) stack wielding guitar player...Small combos tend sit better in the mix at a lot of places and...We get to turn 'em way up!

The venue was in a former Provincial park, nothing real fancy but private and out of the way. They had built an outdoor stage with proper power covering...the perfect setup!

I've had a few sound guys give me the "is this it"? look when I show up with a MazJr NR head and shorty 1x12 cab. Especially at larger or outdoor venues. I've had a few comments. I guess they look at the cab and figure that with it's size it's not gonna cut it. I don't recall any reaction like that when I use the 2x10 convertible cab. I guess the size throws then off. Once we're off and running it's nice to get positive feedback. Most of the time it's something like "18 watts? You're kidding me." I'd take this amp just about anywhere. A real nice treat is using both cabs together. Inspiring.

Yeah, it's so true. When the sound guy sees you show up with a big amp he's screaming about turning the thing down before you even get it plugged in. Show up with a 1 x 12 and you can let the thing roar.
