This is almost crazy, but from recently downsizing I had some spare cash to play with and pick up a couple of things I have been interested in and one random pedal that just popped up on my local Craigslist.
1. Mojo Hand Iron Bell. This one came in first, and I am a big fan of the Colossus. I tried several muff-style fuzzes, and the Colossus just suits my ears. I've looked at demos of the Iron Bell for a long time, and I found a pretty fair priced IB on TGP and went for it. It's great. It's near-ish in the neighborhood of the Colossus, but definitely smoother but with the Tone knob up can get into a gnarlier territory. I like the Color knob, using it to dial in the right amount of "presence" or whatever you want to call it. It's a keeper.
2. Catalinbread Karma Suture. This one showed up next. I've had two versions of the DLS, the Montavillian, and the Echorec. I like CB stuff, but only the Echorec has stuck around. The KS is interesting. I've only had a really short amount of time messing with it, and I almost have to dime all of the knobs to get what I like and I really like what it does there. I have a feeling it will stick around because it's just different and I don't have anything else that does what it does.
3. Boss Hyper Fuzz FZ-2. This one showed up last. I got it partly because the price was half of what they go for on the 'bay so I can flip it. I've read different reviews and seen demos on different Boss Fuzz's. I kinda just went for it more based on the deal than the fuzz. I had the least amount of time with this one, but I'm not sold on it yet. It can do fuzz for sure, I just don't know if it's up my alley. It also has a gain/boost setting which I am interesting in spending more time with. No really great insights from me on this one tho.
I'll report back after a couple of weeks to update whoever might be interested.
Fuzz.
