I just came from my local Long & Mcquade store, where they have a Z Wreck combo... What a mistake.... Now I want one.
I plugged in a 335, as that is my main guitar.. wow!!! I had it on Speed to start, volume at about 9:30-10:00, and bass, treble and cut at noon... now, remembering my Maz jr, I never had the cut up very much past 9-10:00, but I found myself increasing it to about 2:00... I could not believe the beautiful break-up coming from this wonder... this, to me anyway, does not sound like an EL84 amp... at least not the ones I've played before. It was very loud in there... but OH, the tone!! I switched it to Comfort then, and that's what I'm talking about... beautiful, airy and fat overdrive that I've never before experienced.. huge. tone. Absolutely sick. I am haunted. In a good way.. I need one of these. I did notice some tube rattle, though I'm not surprised... that's a lot of power for a combo of that size... could have been the close quarters, or just that it's a brand new amp, but I'm thinking the head would be more up my alley. I never realized that it had so little in the way of clean head-room, at least with a humbucker, but the touch sensitivity more than makes up for that. What a ridiculous thing of amplifier beauty...

Well, I do have an Antidote, and a 25th Anniversary Ghia to keep me company... but... as we all know, It's never enough;-)
The Antidote is just so crazy loud though, I need pedals for dirt. It's a pretty wonderful amp, but now I've got that sound in my head...
One of these fine days. It will be mine. Oh yes..

I hate to say it, but it'll haunt you until you get one... I've wanted one for a few years, and it's just gotten worse and worse. I wouldn't have mine now if I didn't luck into an amazing local deal... But now that I have it, I don't plan on it going anywhere.

Aint seen any at the local L&M .... good thing for me. Z-Wreck is a phenomenal amp - been haunted by it since I tried one back in 2011 .... So, how long 'til the order gets placed? cheers always, Joel

Might be a while;) I'm still loving my Antidote, even though it's too loud;) I just bought a 5E3 tweed deluxe as well, and having just absolved myself of debt, which took forever, I'm being careful:)
That combo is still there... I need someone else to buy it! Restraint is not an easy thing!

I didn't know that you could get home lobotomy kits, hopefully they'd come with some kind of anesthetic

I gotta stay away from this section. I would love to check one out but I have heard they are WAY WAY WAY LOUD (can you hear me??)!! True, but a Brake Lite works great to tame the volume. For some (undoubtedly subjective) reason, the Wreck tone seems less compressed/muffled at higher attenuation levels than what I experience on some other amps.

I didn't think the wreck would work for the majority of our venues but the brakelite has been a lifesaver. To help get the wreck to bedroom level, I go all 4 clicks on the BL, and it still sounds amazingly good. Definitely one of the best amps I've ever owned. Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Proboards

I found a used Alessandro Muzzle (16 ohm) for cheap and it works really well with the Z Wreck. I don't know why some amps seem to respond better to attenuators than others, but this combination works really well.

Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Proboards The BL and Z-Wreck are a really great match! It seemed to kill a little bit of highs on the Stangray, but the Wreck doesn't seem as affected as much by the changes. Must be the frequency differences in the two amps. The BL is much better than the Weber Mass Lite I had, it really killed my top end (almost a 1/5 - 1/4 turn of the treble knob at times).
