I really love this amp...so many good settings on it. I really like cranking the Pre and keeping the Post at about noon. Pat first I was a little intimidated from all the knobs...I'm used to RxJR, ray z wreck...
also, is the gold ok to run with this? Sounds like it's really being pushed hard.
What's your fav settings?

I love John Mayer's Two-Rock/Dumble SSS tone and to best get that on the EZG to me is Bass12:00 Mids7:00 Treble2:00 push a Klon or Tubscreamer behind that and boom! Awesome tone. I love the sound DrZ makes at those settings.

Ive been messing with my settings and have found that I like my pre volume at about 7 o clock and my post dimed, it helps keep the amp clean and I use pedals for OD, and I keep my treble at about 1 o clock, and my bass at about 1 30-2 o clock. Ive been keeping my mids at about 11 o clock but I just dimed my mids and it seems to thicken it up even more for me. Ive been using it with a 2x12 avatar cabinet loaded with eminence texas heats

Mine's very recent, so no bass issue. Basically at home it's 9/9 and 12/12/11/12/12, through a stock Z 4x10. OD pedal always on, no attenuation needed. For gigs I'd run the pre/post higher, still in parallel, probably.

I know a lot has been said about the interactivity of those two controls and that they don't operate like a gain/master but I would love to know more about the design. They sound great in many settings but I seem to always go back to parallel.

I would also like to know. Is there really a difference between Pre/Post and Volume/Master Volume? I can't tell the difference.

I would also like to know. Is there really a difference between Pre/Post and Volume/Master Volume? I can't tell the difference. ive come to find that more pre volume tends to make the amp break up a little bit more. the less pre and more post, you get more clean headroom. I like to keep my pre down and my post up, Ive found that if I keep the pre up too much it makes my amp sound fizzy and I absolutely hate the sound of a fizzy amp

So they a basically the same in that you could change the name from "pre" to "volume" and "post" to "master"...

I would also like to know. Is there really a difference between Pre/Post and Volume/Master Volume? I can't tell the difference. I found this in a review by Guitar Buyer on www.drzamps.com/amp/ezg50/, www.drzamps.com/docs/GBEZG.DRZ.pdf, hope it helps: "However, it's worth pointing out that the pre and post controls work a little differently to conventional gain and master volume controls. Dr. Z explains: 'That circuit came out of the need to get to the sweet spot that 40-watt Fender amps have at 4 on the dial. Today, turning up to 4 is just too loud for most clubs. I designed the circuit to give enough output drive to thicken the output at lower volume'" "As we've said the post volume control doesn't function like a master volume control - you can't turn it down while turning up the pre volume to create preamp distortion at lower levels, for example. Instead, turning up the post control brings in more fullness and growl in an exceptionally useful and natural way."
