So stoked now my KT-45 will have a little sister and we can all go surfing! (Z-Verb)
I also have a Z-Best 2x12 that I am pretty antsy to try the Z28 with as well. I love the tone and simplicity of my KT-45 and am hoping the Z28 will deliver much of those same cleans but with earlier breakup that way I can use the KT for cleans and the Z28 for more overdrive.
The 1x12 ships with a Greenback which I understand is a fine speaker for this amp.
Anybody else have both (a KT-45 and a Z28)?

Do I HAVE a KT-45 to go alongside my Z-28? No. Do I WANT a KT-45 to go alongside my Z-28? Yes, please! You have a nice pair of amps there...
Don't expect that Z-28 to sound like a "little sister" at all with the Z-Best--that thing's gonna be rockin'. The Greenback (small magnet, "M" speaker) is indeed a fine speaker for the Z-28 in a 1×12. I also like it with the heavier-magnet G12H-30, which brings more of that F*nder big lows/highs thing (but it's much louder, though).

Nice I do not have a KT but do have a Z-28. I be that combo is going to be nice to choose from. Or run together!

Ordered a Radial Bigshot A/B-Y so I can switch between amps or run both in parallel and have my tuner out. Should be way more convenient and crazy loud with both. I always play better when it's louder (to my ears anyway)...lol
I could have got a EZG-50 and not the Z-Verb but I really like the KT-45 with my offsets (Jaguars and Jazzmaster...even my Bass VI). I couldn't see getting both, the KT-45 does cleans perfectly and the Z-Verb gets drippy enough...I hope.

I have a 28, KT, Route and Rati v2. I think of all of them the Z28 has the most practical applications, and I think you may like the 28 as well or even better as the KT for that reason and others once you play it. The 66 is a little different animal to me because of its darkness (mine is actually on BST right now; great amp, I just don't play it any more); the Rati is a broader "big brother" version of the Ghia (four el84s instead of two, but the same fabulous tone control)

I had a KT before my Z28. I love them both but the Z28 has a voice that will fit a wider variety of music styles and situations. The Z28 will certainly breakup at a lower volume than the KT but don't expect the "same" cleans. Those amps have very different voices. BTW - IIRC the Greenback is the Doc's favorite speaker for the 28.
