as in, which one is everyone raving about?? I looked at the Celestion website and I see they are calling several speakers "Creambacks" I assume we mean the G12M-65? (higher powered Greenback?) and has a ceramic magnet? Some nice deals over here, so I might treat myself to one for the Therapy and see how it works out

There are 2 flavors. The G12M-65 and the G12H-75. I have the G12M-65 Creamback and have been using it extensively with my Remedy and Mazerati and I like it a lot. It is essentially a higher powered Greenback and yes it has a ceramic magnet. I never used the H version of the speaker. The M version seems to be more popular but the H version is pretty new so maybe people just haven't had time with it. I saw an earlier post and Dr Z says he really liked the Vintage 30 with the Therapy. He didn't mention that he tested the Creamback yet but I am hoping that speaker works.

The M is a great, smooth sounding speaker. I have a 2-12 cab loaded with them I am anxious to try the Threapy through too. Low db too.

+1 on the G12-65M with the remedy and antidote. Hated it with a Z-28 but I also did not like a greenback with the Z-28. Too quacky for my taste.

Ah, now that's an interesting point as I only have 1 speaker cab to serve both amps (Therapy and Z28). Hmm. I'll gig the G12 65 a couple of times first and see how it does before spending any more money!

I have the H version (G12H75). It's a very balanced speaker. Feels somewhat compareable to a higher powered G12H30, but not exactly.
It doesn't really feel like a Greenback at all, and isn't meant to in my opinion (with the heavy magnet). It may be my favorite speaker out of a few dozen I've owned though, so they're worth trying!

I'll probably run the Therapy -- not yet arrived -- through the G12M-65 for my initial listen. I suspect it may be more informative for me to also run it through another speaker to provide context. Most likely that'll be the Gold, which is in the Wreck combo.

I have the M version. I was looking for a less efficient speaker than the Vintage 30. The H version is the same efficiency as the V 30 - 100db and would probably match well with it. I compared the M and a Greenback and found them similar bit he the Greenback to have a bit more thump, but it could have been the cab. Both single 12's - Greenback in a Traynor Dark Horse cab and M in an Orange PPC. Sounded good together. Why did I get the M? Power handling in a 1X12. I'm afraid I would have been to emergency room to get the voice coil removed from my leg after pounding the speaker with my Antidote!

I'd also be interested in how the Invader compares to the Creamback.

I plugged straight in with a Strat. I can't yet offer a comparison with the Gold since I was using a Les Paul for that session.

I tried a Vintage 30 and a Celestion Gold in a 112 open back cabinet with my Z28 before getting my Creamback G12M-65. The Creamback is my favorite. It really sounds good with my drive pedals. Just the perfect match for my Z28!

The Creamback M also sounds really good in an open back 1x12 cab,(IMHO). This is a fine pairing with the Ghia. A pair of them with the Ray (closed back) sounds great also. Same goes with the JAZ 20/40. The M12 comes to life nicely through the 2x12. But I didn't like how they sounded with the Monza (go figure).
