Yessir Frank. I started with a BIN of $1695.00 I believe and dropped to $1500.00 this morning. Basically brand new with the G12h. I'm wanting/needing a grab n go amp and torn if I should get a 1x10 conversion cab for my Z28 or go for the gusto the Maz 8 ( I still love 12's )

Gotta tell ya Steve - I'm lovin' the 8. Unreal versatility. I was messing around the other day and for the heck of it plugged a footswitch into the "hi" jack , and another into the EQ Bypass. So , I'm plugged into the "Lo' input , when I want some clean boost I step on the footswitch plugged into the Hi jack and get a nice jump in volume. Then for some real grind I step on the EQ Bypass footswitch. And go back & forth between Lo/Bypass Hi/Bypass etc. I'm telling ya , you can play around with this thing for hours. Then I did it all over again in Triode mode. Awesome

Well, thanks to Stephen Leake, Frank, and a quote from the good Dr, I just received an email from my wife that she bought me a Blonde Maz 8. She did some detective work and after reading my post here and other comments about this amp, she found an almost brand new one for $1500.00. I am floored. Thanks guys for the good word! Keep you posted.

Thanks for the "Welcome" in one more amp section! The amp is coming from Athens GA (or thereabouts - Bogart?) and should be here next week. BUT, I've already jumped in combo first and started looking at NOS tubes (KCA and Doug have already heard from me), a different speaker besides the stock G12h, and on it goes. I also realized that the combo is 50lbs - but then I think my Remedy head is as well!

I'm really excited for you Steve! Did you get the studio combo? I believe they weigh in around 37 lbs. with the G12H.

Yes - Studio. And I already ordered two of those Russian tubes from Doug because of your post. If it's lighter then that's better, but it isn't a deal breaker I know that for certain! Maybe my wife should read ALL the sections in this forum

I put mine on the bathroom scale last nite - 37 lbs, right on the money. I find it a really easy-to-handle amp. It actually feels lighter than 37 lbs. Maybe the cab dimensions make it real easy to lug around. Handle height is perfect to grab , not like a Super Reverb where you have to lean over while you move it around , and not too low either. I find it easier to carry around than the Deluxe reverb I had. Great for someone living in a 62 year old body like me

What an amazing steal and equally amazing wife for getting that for you! Here's my setup and 2 cents- I've got the 12'' studio combo with the alnico blue speaker also running the z-loaded 2x10. Both cabinets are completely different but love the sounds coming out of both of them. the 1x12 is chimier and has a sweeter driven tone to it while the 2x10 gives me deep, full cleans. Last night I got a Brake Lite SA so I can run everything in parallel at the same time. Unfortunatly by the time i got home it was a little too late to give it a test run. Will update soon. Again, welcome to the Maz8 club!! if photo doesnt work: tinypic.com/r/t0lr0j/8

Well, again I have to credit my wife re this amp. UPS showed out for delivery. I always see the truck in my neighborhood around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I waited until 5:15 and had to leave so my wife stayed home to wait. She was outside on the porch swing about 7:30 when the truck went by - and didn't stop. After about 5 minutes it was coming back by and she flagged it down and asked the driver if he had anything for our address. He said no, so she politely told him to check. He begrudgingly looked and guess what - he found it. Only problem was he didn't have it in his hand held scanner so that is why he had no knowledge of it. He apologized and went on a short rant of how things are being done back in dispatch. So,........
I got home around 9:15 and proceeded to unbox this thing. It was packed incredibly well, and after I took it upstairs to my music room, put in the new tubes and plugged in the tone bypass pedal, I was able to spend about 25 minutes with it. I....am going to have some real fun with this amp. I can't wait to have a gig to where I can crank it up, but until that happens my neighbors will have to tolerate it (or I may have to Remedy the situation). Thanks to all who gave great reviews on this amp - and thanks to the Dr. for making it, and special thanks to my "persistent" wife!
