Not clear what you want to know but the KT-45 should have more clean headroom.

I had a NR Sr 1x12 and I think the KT45 has more clean head room. They are different amps for sure but it also depends what you are running it thru.

Thank you for the replies. In re-reading my original post, I discovered that I most definitely should have posted more info... my apologies.
I have played a MAZ SR, JR, a KT-45, and a Delta 88 - but never at the same time. I'm not certain that I liked the 88. Anyway, I am ready to make a purchase on a Z head, but I can't remember the difference in clean headroom between the MAZ SR and the KT-45. I don't want too much clean headroom, but not too little either.
To complicate things for myself I keep thinking about a Mazerati...

Mazerati has the least clean headroom, in my opinion. I've never put the KT-45 and the Maz sr side by side for a shootout. I still think the KT45 would have the most clean headroom. The Maz sr is definitely more versatile. The Maz would have enough headroom for most gigs, especially with a 2 x 12 cabinet. If you're playing bass or really want Twin Reverb clean then the KT-45 would be the best choice.

The KT-45 has more clean headroom and a very different response and feel as it is grid biased rather than cathode biased. Much tighter amp and less front end compression.
If anybody in So Cal ever wants to hear these side by side using the same cabinet to A/B them my door is open.
