So a Z Wreck trade is in the mail on it's way to me. Curious about the EQ specifically about the mids. Are the mids part of the bass control?
With my maz I always had everything pretty noon with single coils. And scooped the mids a little with my gretsch and boosted the bass and treble. Is there a way to do that in the wreck?

I'd be more inclined to say that the mid frequencies are in the cut control. When you turn the cut control up it really shapes the tone of what you dialed in with the other 2 tone controls.

The Treble control has the most effect on the mids. The more you turn it up, the less mids. Then you can adjust the highs more with the Cut. All controls are very interactive. It's nothing like I've ever seen..... But I've never had a Vox and that's what some say this tone stack is derived from. Congrats on my old Z Wreck coming your way. Sweet amp!! Congrats & enjoy~

Congrats & enjoy~ That does sound more accurate... I usually find the tone I like with the bass and treble knob while leaving the cut at 10 o'clock then use that cut knob to really tune the mids in. But I do agree with mark in that the treble should be set up first to get the most effect on the mids.

I find it works about the same way as an AC30. When you turn up the bass and treble, the mids get "less"... When you turn down the bass and treble, the mids become more pronounced.

agree with everybody above. turning up bass and treble the mids stay almost the same (in truth they are raised a bit also) but relatively to treble and bass they have less influence in the frequency mix. using the cut control has a similar effect. the cut control works on the power stage cutting highs if turned down: here you have the effect that the frequency mix gets more "mid"-weighted

What MarkT said, turn up the treble and you'll hear the mids scoop, turn the treble down and you'll hear the mids bump. It's pretty noticeable.
