I've got a Kendrick Texas Crude head, basically a 50watt Plexi. I have to keep the master volume just cracked for practice. Here lately I'll be playing along and the level will drop off to the point that I have to adjust the master volume and in a few minutes it's blowing my head off. Turn it back down, rinse and repeat. Is it a tube going out or do I have other problems?

try a different set of tubes(pre and power). then check for cold solder joints.

Power (volume) going up & down is a classic symptom of power tubes on the way out.

Voltage fluctuating in the outlet you are using ? I wouldn't rule that out. I've had that before with a Hiwatt. I was so pissed to drop $100 on a replacement quartet when I was already broke to find out that I just had to use a different plug. Still, the tubes are probably the offender, just try the outlet first. Easy, quick, costs nothing.

I'm pretty sure it's not the voltage. I use a Furman Power Factor Pro to even it out. Must be the power tubes. Thanks for the help guys.
