Just did first rehearsal with the JAZ. Definitely one of the best I have ever played. Smoothest and easiest to play Dr Z I've tried (I own a Zwreck and Z28 and have owned Stangray, RXES, Maz 18, Maz 38 and Remedy). Sounds like a fat Deluxe reverb. Much more of a mid scoop than the Z28 to my ears. Hard to believe this amp was discontinued. I'll post some sounds clips later on... Here it is with the others (the red looks kind of cool)

The JAZ is probably one of the most under-rated Z amps.

The JAZ is probably one of the most under-rated Z amps. Absolutely. I think of it as a F Deluxe Reverb in 20-watt mode and a F Pro Reverb in 40-watt mode. My go-to amp for oldies/rock 'n' roll gigs, but not limited to that style of music.

Man, this actually makes me wish I still had mine. I still have the 1x12 baffle, just no amp to go with it.

Now I do both with my JAZ and just switch power. As you would expect from a 'Z' though, it has a little more meat to the tone than either of those amps.

It is truly a fantastic amp. I have been a long time Z28 loyalist, but ever since my 20/40 showed up the Z28 has been second fiddle. I kinda feel dirty saying that... Z blasphemy!

^^^
Nice to have two great and complementary amps.
It seems to me -- I'm biased I admit -- that the JAZs are gradually ending up in the hands of folks who really appreciate them.

The only amp I'd still consider buying if the right one came along. For now, the Z-28 and EZG fill the bill.

It's been said many times before, but I just can't understand why this amp was not more popular. Ten minutes in front of it and I was in awe. It does everything I could ever want out of a 6V6 amp. I truly do appreciate this amp. Perhaps more than any other amp I have ever plugged into.
