Hello,
I bought a brand new Route 66 last week. The vendor told me he didn't know the state that the tubes were in.
I brought it home and it sounded superb...
I spent some time in a studio over the weekend and noticed a steady degradation of quality soundwise...and standing at around 10 feet from the speaker it would slightly feedback on a mildly overdriven tone...
Should I change all the tubes or just the power tubes?

If it is brand new, I think the vendor should take care of any tube problems. Also, if they are GT tubes, I think Myles said they we'll replace them for free on a new Z amp.

Should I contact the store or go through Doc's website?

I can't imagine it would have enough hours on it in a store to make much difference. I'd be more suspect of the phase inverter tube, myself. Oh well push and see what happens.

If the store is a Z dealer than they should look after you but if not contact the Doc .

If the power tubes are suspect you can contact GT directly at 1-800-459-5687 and they will replace the duet under warranty. You don't even have to go back to the store that sold you the amp.
