I've had my Maz Jr. about two months now, and the first thing I noticed, is that it's the brightest amp I've ever heard. Almost too bright.
But I love the sound of EL34 power tubes, and I'm wondering if the KT-45 is also SO bright sounding?
I figure I'd sell my Marshall TSL601 for a KT-45 head.

I've had my Maz Jr. about two months now, and the first thing I noticed, is that it's the brightest amp I've ever heard. Almost too bright. The 2x10 Maz can be bright but, mostly used mine with the treble at 10 oclock and cut at 8-9 oclock. Bass dimed. By standing back in the room and letting others sit in I found it was quite warm with those settings. Speaker break-in helped a lot too. 2 years and they sounded entirely better...and warmer. Never tried the KT 45, but I'm guessing go easy on the treble and roll down the tone knob on your guitar could tame any brightness. My RxES is really bright if all knobs are at noon, so I just compensate with the treble down some, bass up some...and work the guitar tone knob depending on whether you're on neck or bridge.

The tone stack on the KT-45 is very wide range. I would not call the KT-45 a bright amp at all but you can adjust it to be that way if desired. It is very different than a class A MAZ.
