That looks really nice. Congrats. When did PRS switch to the different shape humbuckers? I was at GC a few months ago drooling over some PRS'. A lot of them had those shaped pickups.

I think those are exclusive for the 408 pickups but not 100% sure. The tone possibilities with this baby should be unreal.

Dude you have been on a serious gear acquisition quest my friend. Nice guitar glad the situation turned out for you. Your right and my wife has been good with it. The biggest piece I'm looking forward to hasn't arrived yet Z Wreck. i reordered the music man. It may take a month or two to come in, so I thought I'd get this in the mean time. and I promise the gear buying is coming to an end soon. I think... Lol

Awesome! Congrats! You're gonna love it. I have a Standard 24 and Custom 24 and they just play so amazingly. This is my first ever PRS so I'm a little nervous. The best guitar iv played yet is a music man Albert lee I had a couple years ago. This is suppose to be up there as well.

Pat, be sure to take your wife out for a fancy dinner with flowers. I have a wife that understands my crazy gear purchases too. One in a million. Congrats on that fine looking PRS.

That looks great, Pat! That's the color scheme I'd go for as well. I owned a CE22 for several years: just a wonderful instrument. I really dig the bolt-on PRS; really snappy feel.

That is a nice axe! Just curious can you do any fingerpicking with the middle pickup? I mean I have a hard time finger pickin on strats . The middle pickup gets in the way. But the Middle pickup in that Brent Mason is smooth, and rounded off a little. Thoughts ?
Thanks, Gray

Man I checked them out some time ago and you got me interested again. But I remember now that the nut width is what turned me off last time as well. I could get used to it I'm sure. I just prefer 1 5/8 or 1.65 widths.

But the Middle pickup in that Brent Mason is smooth, and rounded off a little. Thoughts ? Thanks, Gray I totally know what you mean. I have less of a hard time fingerpicking with this prs then a strat. The strat sucks for me because the volume knob is always in the way and the fp issue. The playability on this is amazing! Lots of different sounds can come from it and the tuners keep it well in tune. things that bug me. I don't like the knobs. They look cheap or something. I also hate the "floating bridge". It will need to be blocked since it can't be flat mounted. Reminding everyone I'm a telecaster player and this is my first guitar that's staying that's not a tele. all around awesome guitar. I also ended up coming home with a taylor acoustic. I'll start a new thread for it.

Looks lovely, but I totally agree about the knobs, funnily enough! I would never have said anything, until you did I think knurled nickel or chrome knobs would look fantastic on that axe!

Nothing wrong in admitting that. My first electric was a black fender strat. Let's just say I found out really quick that I wasn't a strat player.
