I just was offered a Rainsong H-WS1000N2 in trade for another piece of gear and was wondering what people thought of fiberglass/composite acoustic guitars. A few months ago, I was looking at a couple of the newer Composite Acoustics models like the cargo for a travel guitar, but never pulled the trigger. I like the low maintenance factor and the fact they don't crack when you look at them the wrong way like some wooden acoustics. The price point is similar, but as far as the sound goes, I'm not sure what to expect. Thanks for any insight.

David Wilcox stopped touring with his Olson's when he got this Rainsong. He joked that when he went to get a flight case for it his guy told him to "just attach a handle to it - you can't break it!" I guess it also depends on how you will be playing it - finger style or strumming.

A good friend of mine has a RainSong. He lives in New Orleans and it's humid and hot a good part of the year. He said in all the years he's had it he hasn't done anything but change strings and tune it. It's consistent sounding, nice to play and it does sound great. I just don't like how it looks, as I prefer the natural wood... other than that I think they are really nice. I don't know how much they cost but they ain't cheap.
