TAD is basically re-labeling chinese tubes after screening them. I heard that Andy Fuchs is using TAD 6L6's in his amps with good results.

TAD stands for TUBE AMP DOCTOR... and the TAD 6L6WGC-STR is a VERY GOOD 6L6 tube... that particular tube IS one of my favorites...and out of all of the different tubes I tried and used in my Tweeds... small bottle, TIGHT warm sound, not quite as bright as the JJ... just right in an amp that does't need to be too bright... TAD and the JJ 6L6's were my favorites of the new ( not NOS) tubes... also liked the Ruby's in my victoria 4x10... but the TAD's have sounded GOOD in everything I've ever put them in... I also noticed John Landgraff had a few pairs laying around his place when I've been their... probably using/ trying them in some of his deluxes along with the ruby's and Groove tubes.... he seemed to think well of them too... they do have their own web site... www.tubeampdoctor.com I'm not endorsing them or anything I just really liked that specific 6L6 tube they have... Tim Schroeder in Chicago uses them quite a lot. I have a pair of the 6L6 small bottles in his old tweed Fender Super, they seem real nice there!

Does anybody know how the TAD EL-84s are? Where are they made?

Their EL-84s seem to be made in Russia and the Czech Republic. They also tweak their tubes to make them better. They seem to be the European Groove Tubes.

Hi LeftyLang, their 6V6's are chinese. The way they classify their tubes is this. Anything ending with: 1) STR = Chinese 2) R or M = Russian 3) Cz = Czech Republic? Hope this helps.

Thanks LeftyLang! Let us know if you use them in your Z28. I am using some RCA blackplates in my deluxe and am looking for an affordable option.
