After nearly a year of trying lots of different amps i bought the M12 Head over the MAZ and many other brands. It suited me for home recording with a 12" Creamback Cab, a brakelite, and with my pedal collection it suited my style of playing. My first impressions of using this amp is that every guitar i have played through it sounded exactly like they should. The core tone and headroom of this amp is excellent and i have had no trouble playing a smallish venue unmic'd. I would like the tone a shade warmer, but the cream back i have isn't played in yet. The bass and treble controls are really useful in a recording context when used with pedals. It took me a while getting used to them but now i understand them they really add an extra dynamic that cuts through the mix. I have tried quite a few pedals through the amp and all sound really good apart from the Mojo Hand FX rook, which seems to like some amps less than others. I am extremely happy with the M12. DR Z this is a killer sounding amp.

If you want warmer get a Celestion Gold...I felt the same and the Gold did the trick. Congrats on a kick arse amp!

M12 is REALLY a great amp.... If that Creamback doesn't come around, I whole-heartedly second savage's ^^^^ opinion abt the Cel Gold! Probably the best speaker out there for the M12 IMHO....

Did you find the celestion gold is quite chimey? Did you find it warmed the amp up? Did it affect the way the amp handled pedals?

Did you find the celestion gold is quite chimey? Did you find it warmed the amp up? Did it affect the way the amp handled pedals? Mine had the stock green and I found it a bit thin sounding. When I swapped to the gold I found it added warmth, a bit of chime (not a lot more, its already quite chimey), and tightened up the bottom end and made it more present. Sounded even better with all the pedals I had. Really just took the amp from great to mindblowing .

Congrats on the new amp! It makes me happy to see other satisfied M12 owners. It really is amazing. I actually found my sound in all the pedals I have and I wanted an amp that sounded amazing clean and with pushed/edge of break tones, but also wanted an amp that would do my pedals justice. For me, the M12 is all that and more, I'm so happy with my M12. It's wonderful. And another amazing thing about it that it's so simple, it's so nice and convenient. When I go to place to place and set up I never even have to check my knobs or adjust them - there set and I never have to worry about it.
Have fun and enjoy!
