This is the question.... I play my remedy head with the speaker of my maz 18 combo, the celestion G12H 30 70th aniversary sounds very well in two amps, but I'm thinking in a new cab for the remedy, and I have serious dudes to buy a 1x12 or 2x12. thanks for your help

Hard to say which would be best. What type of venues do you play? Large or small? Inside or outside? I have both a 1x12 with a Creamback and a Z Best with a Creamback/G12H-30 that I like with the Remedy. The 1x12 is closed back and works great for smaller stages. I like the Z Best for outdoor shows where I can get some distance between me and the cabinet. Both are great. Just depends what your needs are.

(It's ok when matched with the V30 in a Z-best) Anything in the 'greenback' camp (or clones) is a great match: 1) greenbacks 2) Creamback M 3) Eminence Private Jack 4) WGS Invader 5) Weber 1225 6) WGS Green Beret

I use a 1x12 w Creamback M, but I like Steve's recommendation. Take both cabs for bigger stages, or leave one at home for smaller ones. Or run one open back and one closed up. Lots of options with 2 cabs, although I've never played a Z-best to compare.

Another vote for two 1x12 cabs ....except that I wouldn't stack them, I'd separate them left & right behind me ... if I ever had that much room when I play! I use an open back 1x12 and it's plenty loud with decent stage coverage.

In principle only indoors, so a 1x12 screen will suffice.

Just make sure it is a Dr Z cab. There really is a difference. They just sound great. Other guys on here like J Design and Avatar cabs as well.

thank you all for your opinions. I think that having two 1x12 cabinets is a great solution. So you can cover all possible options.

1. The 1x12 Z convertible cab is pretty versitile, easy to load & sounds good. I prefer it open back with the Creamback M with a Remedy. Like the guys say you can get two of them. Lately I REALLY am liking the WGS ET65 speakers in some of my combos.
***REMEMBER to match speaker sensitivity if you plan to use both cabs together.
2. My all time fav. Cab is my 2x12 Mesa 3/4 open back. It just thumps next to a 1x12. But it is a little heavier. I have a G12H30/Gold in it. It's waiting for my incoming Stang Ray (just traded a forum member for it).
I had never spent so much attention to speakers in the past. Now I have tried so many in the last two years.

I've for a gold in my 1x12 and love it. How does the creamback sound in relation to a gold? Is it worth a change?

Hard to beat the Gold. I wouldn't change unless you need to tame the volume. But Creamback sounds very, very good, a lot quieter than gold with more & tighter low end with the ceramic punch. Maybe earlier breakup than the Gold. Can't go wrong with either one. I would not mix them due to the diff in sensitivity the Gold would dominate. Of course it depends on what you are going for. There are many folks with more experience with speakers who can better describe the detailed differences between them.

I've got one of each but I've never used the 212 at a gig. I use the 112 Z cab every time.

OK, 1 day after my previous post I took my 212 Avatar cabinet in the verticle position (poor man's Zbest) to an outdoor party. Loaded with a Lynchback (97 db) and a Heritage Greenback (96 db).
I usually have trouble hearing myself as we never mic the cabs. Gotta say it was perfect volume wise and I could hear myself much better than with the 112.

been rockin a z 1/12 with my antidote and creamback......nice cab, and lots of versatility with the open/closed back option, and then depending on ur speaker choice, lots of choices out there...Z maybe a lil more coin, but still a good cab
