Just installed some tad el84's in the blues jr and new pre's...wow that thing has really come to life...punching way above its weight...way mo better.Kind of got a new repect for the lil dude.
I just couldn't deal with those wimpy tube retainer springs anymore...so I went for some heftier springs. They are not crazy tight...
Lets just say...they are locked and loaded...just wondering if im putting to much umph on them.

Love the TAD-EL84'S. I took the tube retainers off my Pro Jr. The caused a hell of a buzz. Never had an issue with them falling out.

I really like the TAD's , been using 'em for 3 or 4 years now. Had a BJr years ago , never bonded with it - felt like I was fighting it. Maybe TAD's would've helped. Don't know why they didn't use the spring-clip retainers instead of that metal bar with 2 holes in it.

This has bar with two holes, there are rubber gromets on bottom (two holes).Spring held.Only difference than reg...might be just upgraded speaker.
Yeah I know its budget stuff, its got its use though...good practice, jam amp...the tads kicked it into a whole new level...been playing these little suckers for a long time...never sounded so good.
