Hi, I was noticing that my Ghia's stock V1 is a GT12AX7. I went to MF and they are stocking either ECC83 or 12AX7C...what does the "C" mean?
Will their be a problem using this tube in V1?

The GT-12AX7C is built in the Shuguang factory on tooling specific to Groove Tubes and Magic parts (Ruby Tubes). GT also supplies the 12AX7C to Fender for some critical positions in some of their amps. The current 12AX7C is the "C9" or 9th generation, which is an upgrade over previous versions. If you want to learn the way to tell the differences between the various generations, have a tube in your hand and call me at GT and I will walk you through it.
There are also a LOT of Chinese 12AX7s. Many are produced bu Sino which is a co-op of many small tube factories. These do not have the life or tone of the Shuguang.
The 12AX7C9 is a smooth, warm, and linear tube. In Fender Hot Rod and Blues Jr amps it will show improvement to most folks ears when swapped for the original supplied Sovtek 12AX7WA used in many of these amps in V1 which is the most critical position in these amps.

Miles, It's one that's on it's way to me from MF. It just says that it's "new" and better....whatever that means...
It's a GT12AX7C.
