Hi all. Fairly recent *new* Z owner (Dr. Z Monza 1x12 combo with Master Volume) and new to this forum.
Currently running a Timmy (which I absolutely love) and a few different delay pedals. Now I'm looking for another OD (medium dirt but more is OK as well) to compliment the Timmy. Yes, I realize that the Monza has a fair amount of hair on tap but I've also been toying around with the idea of swapping tubes in either v1 and/or v2 to an NOS JAN GE 5751.
I'd love some dirt recommendations so thanks in advance for your time!

+1 on nos jan 5751 in V1 (and V2). DO IT. I have no experience w/timmy but I use a Barber Direct Drive LG w/the Monza and it sounds great. Like it much more then the analog-man ts9 I had before that. The newest Direct Drive is more compact and has switches to get even more varieties of dirt. The next one I'd get would be the Barber Gain-Changer.

I recently took a shot at retubing both the v1 and v2 with some NOS JAN GE 5751's from the 1980's from KCA and I REALLY like what it did tonally to the amp. And interestingly enough, I just received shipment on a Barber Gain Changer which I finally had a chance to play last night and WOW, what a great pedal! Didn't have a chance to A/B with my Timmy but it's a winner either way!!
