Ever since I've had this Delta 88 head I've only played it through the Z Best cab. Tonight I played it through my Marshall 1960A 4x12 cab with the stock speakers. I thought the amp breathed much better through this cab vs. the Z. To my old, damaged ears it's much more responsive/spongy to pick attack through the Marshall and wasn't as 'woofy' as when played through the Z cab. Maybe it's the slightly scooped mids of the stock Marshall speakers but I thought it really opened up better than the Z cab. It reminded me of what the Route 66 sounds like. Or is it the 4x12 factor? Any similar experiences?
I may have to keep this 88!
What cabs are you guys running your 88's through?
thanks, Jeff

I'm running mine through a 2 12 open back with an alnico and a ceramic tubby. I'll try it through my 4 12 now that you mention this. Only thing about it is it's like a laser. It needs a set of beam blockers.

I would like to try one through a 4x10. When I had my Delta, I used to play it through a 1x12 and it still sounded great even at lower volumes.
