Hey guys, After all of your encouragement, I scored a mint early version Monza (red of course) for a great deal with plans of immediately sending her to the Doc's shop for the PPI Master Volume mod. After no response to emails, I called the Z repair shop direct and was informed that they were no longer performing the MV mod. After much begging and pleading I convinced them to do one more...mine. After one brief day in my possession (and now I remember why I sold my first Monza 4 years ago because of how stinkin loud the Monza is, actually unusable loud for my applications) she is immediately going out on the Fedex truck tomorrow to the Z shop. I'll keep ya posted! Here is a pic:

You will not regret it. I have a newer Monza combo and it just sounds great with the MV and is useable at any volume.

Dr. Z repair department just let me know that my Monza is in the mail with the MV mod and new faceplate installed. The coolest thing is it's supposed to arrive on my birthday at the end of the week. Please Mr. UPS man, don't be late! I hope the Monza is everything I'm hoping it to be and is a keeper....

pop a nos 5751 in v1 and the amp will really shine and work better with time based effects as well. I would imagine they were swamped with people wanting that mod. I'll bet it's pretty easy to do, people will probably start doing it themselves. The monza is definately a keeper with the ppimv mod.

Nice score on your early Monza, juicy! Let us know what you think of the modded version when it arrives home.
I, too, tried a non-master Monza 1×12 in the local store about a year ago—with the volume barely on—and thought, "holy heck, this thing would be WAY too loud for what I'd ever do with it." So I'm happy now to have the MV model.
