I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum of Remedy lovers since I'm totally digging this amp! I want to echo others who have posted on this forum that the Remedy is not a one trick Plexi pony. I tend to play pretty dirty in my main band and don't like to use distortion pedals (and now will never have to!) and the Remedy delivers in spades. But it's also gorgeous when you roll the volumes back a bit - sounds as rich as any Fender I've come across. I'm still trying to figure out how I like it set but for now I'm having fun exploring all the different sounds I can get out of it. Everything sounds incredible to me, except for turning up the bass when you get the volumes north of 2:00. Anyway, I'm loving this amp. Thank you Dr. Z! Here's a pic of it atop my two 1x12 cabs and my main guitars, a custom tele and a 73/74 SG.

Welcome. The Remedy is a fantastic amp. You've got a couple of sweet guitars to play through it.

. Everything sounds incredible to me, except for turning up the bass when you get the volumes north of 2:00. Welcome to the forum! As for your comment above.....I usually start with the high (treble) volume and get it up to the volume and crunch level I want, then bring up the Normal (bass) volume with my eyes closed until it sounds the way I want. (I sort of use the normal volume as a bass control) To me, the High volume is much more critical.

I've never discovered a great clean tone on the Remedy. I love it and I doubt I'll ever part with it, but mine (MV and tone bypass mods into a 2x12 with Creambacks) gets a clean sound that I would call OK, not better. For cleans, my old blackface Super Reverb is just in another category altogether.
Of course, when it comes to gigging, the difference between an OK clean sound and a fantastic one will probably be lost in the mix, and would probably be lost on the listeners as well. Being able to get the high quality dirty sound that the Remedy delivers is more important. That's one reason I wouldn't take my SR to a gig.

Congrats and WELCOME! The Remedy is indeed a very special amp, and not a one trick pony! That being said, the "trick" this pony is supposed to do, is STELLAR! I am moving bands into a much more 90s / 00s Rock band, and as I found out the other night, other than the occasional Delay effect, I won't need a pedal board! I have an LP Special with noiseless P90s which have quite a low output, so I maxed both Hi and Normal Volumes, set my TMB at around noon, and brought the MV up to taste, then used my guitar volume to clean things up - worked like a treat! Combining this setup with the EQ Bypass foot switch, I had everything covered in style (when I put the Lollar P90s, with the Overwound Bridge, back in, I suspect those Vs will be turned down a tab to around 3 o'clock )

Thanks for the welcome! It took me a while to respond because I've been too busy playing the amp! Special thanks to John for recommending a different way to set the amp - it has really helped me explore the Remedy's tonal range. I didn't think I could like this amp any more than I already did but......well, you know

My new favorite setting - thanks to those who told me to pay more attention to the HV. It has really helped me get the bottom end to sound the way I want it to. Next step is to try the tone bypass with these settings since it'll make more of a difference now that they're all shy of 10:00.

I'm surprised you have the mids that low.

Pete, how do you get the NV that high without the lows fuzzing out?
John, I'll trying bringing up the mids a little more but I like having a fat, thick sound since I'm the only guitar in one of my bands.

John, I'll trying bringing up the mids a little more but I like having a fat, thick sound since I'm the only guitar in one of my bands. Ah, it's all about the Guitar Volume. I have mine rolled WAY back to 3-4, and rarely above 7-8 on those settings. I often leave the GV at 3-4 and use a clean boost for solo stuff. I use the GV as a Gain knob rather than a Volume knob, if you see what I mean? I like a thicker tone, but I also think my G12 65 hasn't broken in yet, as there is definitely a high-mid spike which this setting eases off. I have an Eminence Governor on the way which has a much smoother top end, so I may end up changing those settings once it's in play. Whatch this space

What speakers do you have in those cabinets? Most have found that greenbacks (or clones or Creambacks) are the perfect match for the Remedy.

Pete, I'm with you - I use the GV to manage gain as well. When I'm having good days that means having to play with it very little and when I'm not, well you all probably know how that goes. Fiddling with knobs all night long is the worst. Anyway, I don't know if I could get by with my GV as low as you've got it. I'm usually between 6-8 for rhythm stuff and go to 9-10 for solos or just extra gain.
John, I've had a chance to play with the amp a little more and I've got the mids at about noon now. To my ear, it doesn't thicken it up as much as it does brighten up the mids which I really like. Thanks for pointing that out. As far as speakers go, I've got a Celestion G12H30 in one cab and a WGS Green Beret. They sound great and the Celestion has a bit more bottom end on the limited tests I've done.
