I have to say, if (when?) I step outside the Gibson/Fender world (or their boutique clones) for a different flavour of (affordable) guitar, I think I will be seriously considering Duesenberg - these guitars look great, seem extremely well made, and are being played by more and more respected guitarists.
Anyone have any experience?

I REALLY like the idea of a vintage HB in the bridge, and a P90 in the neck - seems SO obvious I am surprised Gibson hasn't done it on their LPs a long time ago.....

Nice find Alan, on the TS LP - bit beyond my reach though, to say the least! Yes, Joe playing them drew my attention in the first place (as he did with DrZ amps!), and watching him play them on Live at Daryl's House impressed me - they look VERY cool. Of course with Joe you just know that next week he'll be endorsed by someone else, and playing the snot out of those guitars, whatever "they" may be This one I like!!

Isn't Steven Seagal also a big acquirer of guitars? I found this in Wikipedia:
Music Seagal live in 2007
In addition to acting and aikido, Seagal also plays the guitar, and his songs have been featured in several of his movies (such as Fire Down Below and Ticker). In 2005, he released his first album, Songs from the Crystal Cave, which has a mix of pop, world, country and blues music. It features duets with Tony Rebel, Lt. Stichie, Lady Saw, and Stevie Wonder. The soundtrack to Seagal's 2005 film Into the Sun features several songs from the album. One of his album tracks, "Girl It's Alright", was also released as a single in parts of the world alongside an accompanying music video created for it.
Seagal's second album, titled Mojo Priest, was released in April 2006. Subsequently, he spent summer 2006 touring the United States and Europe with his band, Thunderbox, in support of the album

John wasn't exactly famous yet. And I remember an issue of Vintage Guitar that showed Seagal's collection of historic guitars. For some reason, I don't like the thought of... nevermind

While you're waiting for the dough for a Mike Campbell, get a used Reverend Club King 290... for 500 to 700!
I really like Duesenberg Guitars and got to play one before!

Gretsch is making awesome guitars these days. Love a big hollow-body. But yeah--the Duzies are also very cool.

Gorgeous guitars and sound great in the hands I've heard them. They have some cool finishes that would seem flashy on other guitar, but somehow retain their class on no Duesy.

Harry, what you MEANT to say was, "I am SO busy playing this beauty that I don't have time for pictures - make do with this!" That's what you meant to say, right? That is one beauty for sure, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on playing it.........

If I was in the market for a good electric, I think I would consider them. However, when I got my Custom Shop Strat, it was hanging right next to a Deusenberg. So I guess I made my choice.

It plays very very well and is one Sexy Beast!. The action is superb and very little buzzing going on. I have a few Tom Andersons; a Strat, Tele and a Cobra which is like a tele shape but more like a les paul in terms of the wood and scale. The Doozy offers me tones that I do not have; if I was to give you an idea, I would say it is a cross somewhere between a 335 and Gretsch Duo Jet. It really has it's own voice. I can be very jazzy or with lot's of gain it can rip and tear! Great for blues and even modern stuff. What I REALLY liked about it was the string definition; you can hear every string with clear, articulate balance overall. The build quality is fantastic, even better than the Gretsches I have owned. The pots are built very well, they roll nicely and have a feeling of quality. When you roll back the volume you do not lose clarity or the mids and bass; I thought my Andys were good but the Doozy is actually better in this department. The Tremola is a dream and works flawlessly without knocking the guitar out of tune. For me the Doozy will fit into my Rootsy stuff that needs that chime in addition to a solid bottom end. Add some tasty OD and a Tremolo and hold on Bubba! I have been playing it through my EZG and Antidote leaving me with a "wet spot" in my pants every time I play it. It will not replace any of my Andys but fills the gap that only a Doozy can. How much do I like it? I ordered a second one! A Starplayer TV Custom... www.duesenbergusa.com/guitars/dvt/index.html

The Starplayer TV model is ace. The 2 pickup setting has a wild jump blues/Peter green out of phase tone to it
