I bought a beautiful surf green EZG from fellow Z'er Fishbeiner and it arrived yesterday and all I can say is WOW!!!! If anybody is on the fence on these amps, get one! HUUUUGE sound, power, LOUD, CLEAN, loveable, huggable, great with pedals, makes me not want to put my guitar down. I started playing on it last night for a few hours and have been playng it today for about 4 hours and it just keeps getting better. I absolutely love it. Fishbeiner is a excellent seller and shipper, I was way more than impressed with communication with him, and his more than professional shipping method. That amp was packed tight and extremely secure and its like a brand new amp. not a flaw on it. beautiful head and 4x10 cabinet to match and I was never a fan of 10" speakers but these sound HUGE. Im in love again, and my maz jr might be getting jealous because Im showing the love to the EZG, but I can honestly say, I now have found my sound, my tone and my amps that ive been searching for for years. Thank you fishbeiner, Im more than happy

it is sweet without and if it does not cause any issues at home or around the neighborhood then even better, but if it does then you must attenuate

Told ya! Love the surf-monster--awesome rig!
I've found that the EZG really doesn't require attenuation. At low volume--pre/post at 9/9, say--it makes a great clean platform for pedals. Crank the pre a little and reduce the pedal volume for more amp, less pedal.

"At low volume--pre/post at 9/9" that is a beautiful setting and it is still loud(in a good way)

Through the same speakers. I don't think it's much louder than my Z-28 at the same volume settings but it is voiced much bigger, rounder, with more clean headroom so it might appear that way. I'll bet both amps would be pretty loud through that 4x10.

The 4x10 with Doc's 10s is a loud cab--I don't know what the efficiency of those speakers is, but it's pretty high and the cab moves a lot of air. And yeah--the EZG is loud, but it's not THAT much louder than a cranked Z-28--certainly nowhere near twice as loud. But what's great about the EZG is that you can use it as a pedal platform at low volume and still get big, gorgeous tones without frying the neighbors' brains. Then, if you find yourself on a big stage or doing an outdoor gig, you can crank it and get the full benefit of those matched 6L6 power tubes.

I am so glad you are happy with the EZG! Like I said, it is truly an amazing sounding amp, and it was great to have had the opportunity to test it out, even if it was only for a short time. It is certainly in good hands. Play well and enjoy it, bloozeman!!!
