Hi I thought I would jump on board and introduce myself. I live in the outback top end of Australia. I am waiting on my new Maz 38 head w/reverb, sent from Alabama. It has just been cleared from Australian customs and on it's way to me. I couldn't buy a Dr Z cabinet as it is just too big to send. So I have a guy in Sydney making my custom cabinet in matching red Tolex based on the Z-Best 2 x 12 with 2 C-Gold speakers. That's a few weeks away. I've also managed to get a second hand Dr Z Air Brake for a bargain price on Ebay. I'm going to have to use a step down transformer (200w) for the power as we are 220 volt on this side of the world. I'll look into a permanent solution on power (any advice?) I can't wait to plug in my Tele Deluxe into her ♬

Welcome, jasper. The MAZ series are great amps, very flexible. Let your ears guide you and don't be concerned if what might seem an "extreme" setting sounds good.
From your location description it sounds like you aren't near any of Oz's large cities. NT?

Thanks Bill, Bukowski and Doctorice. Doctorice I'm 200 miles south of Darwin in Katherine. Have you been to the top end? My last head was a silver faced fender twin reverb. So I look forward to a whole new range of soundscapes!

Great amp, I've used mine on 99% of all my gigs for the last few years. The Golds go well with it, as does the Airbrake attenuator. Let us know how you like it!

Doctorice I'm 200 miles south of Darwin in Katherine. Have you been to the top end? Not yet. My previous visits have all been to the eastern coastal regions and Tasmania. I've gotten as far north as Daintree, but didn't have a proper vehicle to go to Cooktown.

Welcome to the forum, jasper. As you know the Maz 38 is a great amp. Even I couldn't get a bad sound out of it. Can't wait to hear a report once you get 'er together.
Happy New Year!

Thanks Doc001 Maddog cheers, I have a sneaking suspicion that I will be the only guy in the Out Back to have a Mazz 38 and quite possibly the only Dr Z all together. You can not buy Dr Z's in Australia. I had to get this new one sent and pay $100 for postage and add a extra $500 for custom duties.

We've got several Z brothers Down Under. Not sure they've been active on Z Talk lately, although groovergeorge popped up to say hello recently.

BW sounds like taswegian comes from Tasmania and where I'm from is like comparing this distance between Duluth Minnesota to the Florida Keys. So yer if I happen to see him... lol!
