Hey guys, I'm considering purchasing a Dr. Z Remedy. I was drawn to it particularly for the plexi like design. Could anyone that owns a Remedy give me an idea of what to expect? How much gain does the Remedy have? Will I be able to play Zeppelin, ZZ Top, and other artists using it's natural overdrive? If not, what other amps does Dr. Z produce that can achieve gain like that of 70s to 90s rock without pedals?

You want to play Zepplin, ZZ Top and you wonder if the Remedy is the right amp? It IS the right amp!
Get yourself a closed back cabinet with either greenbacks or creamback "M" speakers. Perfect match for the Remedy and 70's tone.

Look for one of the newer versions with the master volume and EQ bypass. It will get you the gain without the volume.
New Remedy amps have this as standard. You can have older Remedy amps modded by Dr Z to have this useful feature.

The answer is YES YES And YES... If you don't want to use an OD and just get that perfect tone and let your fingers do the talking..... then this is the perfect amp.

^^^ What they said! Get a clean boost, like an Xotic EP to push it harder for solos, and you're done!

Its the perfect amp for those tones. If you can't find a new one all you need it a good overdrive pedal set the amp clean.

John, what type of cabinet do you recommend? A 1x12 Z Cabinet with a Creamback sounds good as well as a Z Best for bigger stages.

Remedy will work. Antidote is another good choice. Perhaps if you are looking for a thicker sound. ( kinda greenback vs vintage 30 comparison - both good for rock, but different). A Route 66 can work well, but again has it's own flavour.
