Hi all,
I got a 2nd hand Z verb (2009 model) earlier this week
I thought i'd treat it to an expensive set of NOS Philips valves and bin the old tired ones.
The new valves arrived today from Watford Valves - I promptly fitted them and fired it up...
I plugged it into the front end of my Rx Jr and as I increased the mix, I found my signal getting much quieter, as I eased the mix knob back, my signal became much stronger again.
Now I appreciate that mixing in more of the wet signal will give a volume drop but I was really quite surprised at just how much. Is this the norm please?
I had wondered if one of my fancy new valves was giving a weak signal or something! The reverb seemed nice, just a lot quieter than the signal with the mix fuly counter clockwise
Thought appreciated!

I have never experienced any volume drop, maybe something is up with your Zerb?

1) Does the volume drop with the original tubes as well?
(The bold majority of the probs with tube amps are because of tubes...A lot of the NOS stuff today are culls... you gotta be careful now....)
