My band has just been hired as the house back-up band for a variety show theater. The key to getting this gig was being able to play a wide range of music and make it sound authentic. Of course my go-to amp is my JAZ.

I think the JAZ is one of the most misunderstood amps in the line-up! With the right pedals it can do most anything.

Sounds like a cool gig. JAZ should be perfect.

About the only pedals I use are a short slap-back echo, a mild OD, and a clean boost. The reverb and trem on the JAZ cover everything else. Unlike some bands where I've had to cover other instruments parts, in this band we have a great keyboard player so I only have to concentrate on guitar parts. It makes life a lot easier.

Yeah man, its awesome. I actually don't use any of pedals with mine. But I don't gig anymore. I just love the straight in cranked up sound. It's my favorite amp ever. And had (have) bunch of Z's (and other great amps). Love the crunch when it's turned up loud straight in. The reverb is pretty darn good. The trem... the best out there.
I really like this amp. It's a never sell amp for me.

I've thought about doing the show straight into the amp without any effects other than what the amp has. I have my tuner (Line 6 M9) and a vocal doubler on my pedalboard so it's onstage anyway. Since it's there I go ahead and use the other effects sparingly. The reality is that after dragging a pedalboard around for 30 years it's hard to cut the umbilical cord.

I dig the JAZ. Hope to run across one someday. Borrowed this one from Andrea at 440HZ in Milano for a week of festivals a few years back. Kind of a ramble and a little too long but...........
