Just wondering about tone difference. Would the 2X10 be louder than a 1X12?

That would depend on what speakers (efficiency) you're using. I recently bought an Avatar 2X10 with Greenbacks...it wasn't very loud, and didn't have the clarity I like, so I now have a Gold and a Vintage 10 in there...it's now clearer and louder. I've tried several different 12's in my MAZ 1X12...same thing, as higher efficiency and db ratings will usually be perceived as louder. Generally, I'd say if you're talking about the same type speaker in either one, the 2X10 is probably going to seem a bit louder, because you're using more speaker area and moving more air. Usually tightens up the low end too. I'm a big fan of 10's...my 4X10 and 2X10 cabs are my favorite with the Remedy head.

Sort of what I thought. I have Orange1X12 with vintage 30's. I'm looking at a 2X10 with something like a Greenback style / less efficient to pair with an Antidote. New amp and just trying to sort things out.

Generally speaking 10" speakers have a faster cone response and are typically described as "more punchy" than a 12".
I am a big fan of 2x10 or 4x10 speaker cabs. In a band you can cut through the mix better.
That being said I have a 12" red fang that will cut thru anything, and your V30's certainly cut thru too.

I LOVE MY 10"s they are very punchy and articulate and sound great in a ceramic/alnico mix ! I can only imaging what the Antidote with 10"s, AWESOME!!!!

It's been my experience that 10's are a bit clearer with a tighter bass I prefer 10s when I am running an amp clean or a little dirty. I find I prefer 12s if I'm running it dirtier, it tends to handle the the whole amp on 10 meltdown thing better than 10s. That being said I most definitely plan on getting a Z 4x10 for my antidote. I also have a 2x12 so I guess the solution is to get both!

I recently A/B'd my Avatar 1x12 directly against my Avatar 2x10 (exact same size & shape cabinets, both open back) using the instantaneous switching of my CabBone, and the 1x12 was a little bit louder.
Granted, it's never going to be an apples-to-apples comparison, because the speakers are all going to be different. In this case, the 12" was a Tone Tubby alnico, and the 10"s were Weber 10A125 & 10F150. But yeah, surprisingly, the 1x12 was louder. I wasn't expecting that.

I'm really curious about how an Antidote would sound through a 2x10. I've been watching clips of the Antidote for a while now and I'm loving the tones. If I get a chance to play one I might have to trade my Splawn in to get it. I wouldn't mind something more compact which is why I was thinking a 1x12 or 2x10 might be nice. I tend to prefer 2x12s though.
