EP Booster is great. ZVex SHO isn't as transparent, but colors in a GREAT way. I currently use the EP

EP if you want a touch of color or flying dragon/draconis if you want pure clean boost. I use both and if I could only have one it would be the draconis because it has 2 clean boost stages and a built in loop.

EP is good, not completely transparent but I like what it does. RC is good, again, not completely transparent but has some eq built in. Flying Dragon is transparent and one knob simple. Another I've been using lately is the TC Spark Booster. It has an eq switch to change from transparent clean boost to fat boost and also has eq knobs. I really like it so far.

Love my Flying Dragon. Haven't seen him around here lately, but Steve (Lizard Leg Effects) is one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to deal with.

Best clean boost I've tried is the Timmy. While not completely transparent, I'm loving what the AC Booster does with my Maz and Les Paul.

I'm using a Barber Launch pad. This link describes a method which I have used to my satisfaction. www.tpngear.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=169. The other benefit of the launch pad is you can use it to correct phase issues if you run a stereo amp setup. I also have used the Xotic RC Boost. Happy with both and use them both.

Another option you may have is to have Dr Z install the EQ bypass on your MAZ if you don't already have it. You control it with a footswitch. Talk about "Natural" boost!

I've had the EP Boost- it's not clean. The Pigtronix Class A is totally clean. One knob up to 20db. Unity around 10:00. simple and inexpensive.

I used an Ep for a while. Then I tried (and bought) the Gamin'3 Push Up. Little belgian company that does great things. www.gamin3.be/Sounds incredible before almost any drive pedal or overdriven amp. And very nice clean boost too. Not the most neutral but very pleasant. Hard to turn it off !

After getting my Timmy, I never looked again. Worth trying if you get the opportunity.
