First impressions - which do you like better ( both are good but ....).

I like the Remedy because it's more rude sounding.

They sound very similar to me in the clip...the Remedy slightly darker-sounding maybe. Not a surprise since both lean towards the Marshall side of things. I'm assuming the footswitch was the EQ-bypass?

Tough choice. I have the Remedy and love it but I also want the Antidote. Really, I think I need both. No, I gotta have both. Thanks, you just cost me another couple large.

Here's is another. I dig the Antidote but I still find myself leaning towards the Remedy, especially when I listen to the video without watching.

To me, these amps are similar enough and in the same ballpark, that as a Remedy owner, I don't feel like I'm missing out in a big way not having the Antidote. One of the things I dig about having a Galaxie, MAZ, and Remedy is the way they're all great-sounding amps, but clearly different from one another.

I also have the remedy and would love to test drive the antidote. I have a feeling that the antidote would be more then what I really need though. With the MV on my Remedy it pretty much changed the whole game for me. I really liked the remedy before the MV. Now I like it even more and what I Like about it is its raw raunchy rock and roll tone and its pristine cleans. Being able to get those at reasonable volumes have also been an added plus. I do like the antidote though. Nice video's Rock thanks for posting. So are you having second thoughts about selling the remedy?

Just like Mike said, if I listen without watching, I end up choosing the Remedy, BUT I can for sure hear why many LOVE the Antidote!! I love it too, but that Remedy "rudeness" speaks to my musical soul a bit more I'm just glad I don't have to choose which one to buy - I've got my Remedy, and it's staying put!

I like the Remedy because it's more rude sounding. Glad you got to A/B them before you moved the Remedy. I can see where some folks may like the harder, edgier voice of the Remedy vs. the smoother, more authoritative Antidote. I love it that the good Doc gives us a choice.

I had a Remedy, and was considering buying another one. They are indeed close, but I like that the Antidote is a bit cleaner. I wish you could have that awesome 1/2 power switch with 2 power tubes!

That would be cool! I would love to see a MV or sorts Master Volume/Voltage. I use a killer Attenuator. I'm Golden.

I MUCH prefer the Remedy tone. SO much smoother/Marshall-esque.

I just bought a Z 1x12 to match my Remedy head. Woot!! GREAT combination - my 1x12 (G12 65) looks GREAT with the Remedy, and sounds spectacular! I keep listening to other amps on this forum, and although they sound fantastic (the 'Dote being the perfect example) I cannot find fault with the Remedy, so it would be change for change sake in my case, and I can't figure why I would want to do that.......... What speaker are you thinking of?

Humbucker Music offered different speakers, I chose a Greenback since I never use the 40 watt setting. If I do opt for 40 watts I can use my 2x12 cab (also with Greenbacks).

That Antidote sounds great, but I must say, you were *made* for that Remedy Mike.
I'm missing mine big time now...

Already love the rem but the MV/EQ bybass took it to a whole nother level. Throw a creamback in a 1/12 Z cab and you have the ultimate gigging set up.

I'm really happy with the MV mod. Love having the option. The Antidote sounds killer but I'm still digging the Remedy Rock on Remedy Brothers!!! Surfhard

How do you like that 1x12 Mike? iTs worth every penny IMO. They sound HUGE!!!! Oh yes and LOOKS KILLER!!! I am tempted to try the MV Remedy, The only downfall to the remedy is that its pushed hard cranked up and gets way too HOT way Too soon is what I experienced. I like the Headroom the Dote would offer but then again Im using minimal boxes these days.

I think the Antidote is a SPECTACULAR amp, I just prefer my Remedy

They sounded more different from each other than I expected. The Antidote is definitely stiffer, and stouter, if that makes sense. I think it would cut through better in a loud live setting. I've had some trouble with my Remedy playing live, in that it gets "spongey", especially with the PPIMV turned down much. I'm working on playing it with the Master higher, and sticking to the high power setting, with the Volumes lower. I was also surprised (for some reason) with how much the Remedy in this video sounds like mine. It's got a trademark "roar" between notes that you don't hear so much on the Antidote. The way that chords decay is just a signature of this amp. If I had to pick based on this, I'll stick with the Remedy. I think I can master the "cutting through" issues, and it just sounds so nice and nasty. Read more: ztalk.proboards.com/thread/57069/dare-ask-remedy-cleaner?page=1&scrollTo=647269#ixzz2bbwJvY4v

The Antidote is definitely stiffer, and stouter, if that makes sense. If I had to pick based on this, I'll stick with the Remedy. In my opinion, the Antidote is NOT stiffer than the Remedy. It is stout! But it's feel is softer, warmer & smoother. That's what I like better about the Antidote. I owned a Remedy....twice! Great amp but a little too strident and stiff for me. Tube rectifier (Antidote) vs solid state rectifier (Remedy) is, I think, the reason for this feel. I love Mike's video's and playing, however, this is not the definitive, end all, exact differences between the two amps. Both great amplifiers from Dr Z, but two different flavors & feels for us. Awesome!
