Before I picked up my EZG I was trying out some various Swart amps. They sounded very good and I was impressed. I tried to buy something other than a Z in an effort to deepen the gene pool. After doing the A/B comparison I realized that the EZG was hands down the winner for my ears. I am sure there are some Swart fans out there but man nothing sounds sweeter than an EZG to me...

Except maybe a JAZ 20/40 - that tremolo is an amazing addition

I am thinking I need an EZG-50 to go with my Stangray. I would like it in a combo form but not a fan of 1x12. Wonder if I could have one built 2x12.

I doubt it because the Doc doesn't have a combo-cab that would fit a 2×12 with the EZG chassis... but I'm pretty sure you could get it in a 2×10, though.

I thought that may be the case. Probably just go the Head route with a 2x12 cab..Trying to get an idea of the best speaker setup for it.

I owned a Swart 18 watt head, master vol, two channels, trem, reverb, used 6V6, 6L6, or EL 34's. It was a good amp but i couldn't get my jazz tone. i used two swart cabs even changed the speaker to a blue and a gold. used the head thru my big gibson cabinets, still couldn't get my tone. Willicut had a red EZG head and i did an even swap for EZG.
Needless to say i have my tone, i kept the cabinets with the blue and gold and use them with EZG and a few other amps.
Swart is a good amp but it didn't work for me whereas, the EZG (being an old fender twin player) has the beautiful lush sound. I wouldn't compare anything i am aware of in the swart line to the EZG. Swart has a new stereo amp but i have found that even good sound clips are no substitute for playing it.
I took a chance on the EZG, but the Swart wasn't doing it so i felt i had nothing to lose and i feel fortunate i did because it is what i was looking for.
