Okay, my first thoughts: Dang, that thing looks sweet in blonde with the gold Z.

How come he didn't demo the EQ bypass?

I didn't think that was a very useful demo. The written review discusses the linked volume controls, but that was not demonstrated. No playing around with the tone stack. As harry noted, no EQ bypass action.

Looks like the wrong guy demo with the right amp IMHO

I liked the article...the vid was not really interesting... I shut it off after the second sound sample...I'm sure there's much better demos out there.

I agree, I thought maybe I was in a very critical mood or something. Sure didn't hear anything inspiring and like Lefty it didn't make me want to buy one. I have an Anderson Cobra and it sounds incredible through the Antidote as with my other TAGs. Baker and Holt know how to make that glass glow for certain!

Weird demo indeed.......
He looked sort of hesitant in his playing - no attack at all - and what's with that guitar?? Using a no-name specialist instrument with all sorts of settings is just daft! He should be using industry standard guitars to test amps. Where's Andy when you need him, eh??

A Les Paul a Strat and a Tele is the way to review a world class amp w/ Big-Boy-Pants on.

Yes I too am disapointed in that very POOR demo. Like the dude had a line of amps to demo and couldn't wait to to finish to do the next. No excitement , poor playing, didn't demo boost function, and didn't even adjust EQ. Also that Bogner V-30 2X12 would not have been my choice way too harsh sounding.
What a drag.

DR.Z Yes...that was very lame I thought as well. I did like the review though. Summed it up pretty good. I don't think it was the same writer as video demo'er..... Lovin' my Antidote!

I've seen better from Premier Guitar.
I promise that if Rebecca Dirks had been involved in that video demo, you'd all have a much better opionion of it...

Agree with the above. There were some things about that demo that really didn't sound good, and I know personally that one of them WASN'T that Antidote head. It's hard to judge some things from a recording. The cab was harsh sounding, maybe it was brand new. I've used my Antidote through a well broken in V30 and I enjoyed the tone, not harsh like that video sounded. My other beef was with the tones he fed to the amp. I very much dislike the sound of a bridge humbucker with an adjacent single coil in parallel, like he used in position 2. Some like it, I think it sounds muddy and generally weak. Which again didn't capture what the amp will sound like at those levels.
When he had it wide open and stated that it was as much gain as you'd get, he clearly didn't explore the amp. Modern, cranked, with the EQ bypassed yields far more grind than what he showed.
Dave Baker and Dave Holt's videos sound much better and represent the amp in a much more realistic way. This amp is meant to be played with some serious authority, which those guys pump into the amp. That is want makes this amp the beast that it is. The guy in the PG video didn't have the right hand attack (heavy or light) to make this amp do what it can.

I didn't care much for the colour of his shirt either; blue would have been a better choice...okay, I am getting weird here. But did he even have the volume on his guitar turned past one?

Or maybe someone from DR Z reached out to PG to discuss their concerns. I know that is what I would do...
