Okay, I'll go first: I have a Galaxie 2X10, a MAZ 1X12, and a Remedy. Of those three, the Remedy is best for getting that clear-with-balls SRV Strat tone, followed by the MAZ. Not that it's not somewhat versatile, but I think the Galaxie does best what it's designed to do...juicier tweed tone. If you're gonna use a Gal for that, I'd suggest vintage-type or even under-powered pickups and a cleaner overdrive, like a boost.

Galaxie is a phenomenal amp - and works well in many applications and situations - I love it for many reasons ..... tweed-y goodness on channel 1 and a whole lotta rock'n'roll power and awesomeness on the channel 2 that said, if I'm playin' a Stratrocaster gimme a Remedy or KT-45 with cab(s) loaded with multiple 10s or 12s for chasin' some of those SRV tones ...... just my .02, ymmv, etc etc etc etc cheers always, Joel

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like the EZG is more of what I am looking for.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like the EZG is more of what I am looking for. It is. DR Z singles out the "El Mogambo" tone in the EZG description.

I generally use my trusty super reverb but,,,,...... I use to get a decent SRV tone from My Galaxie at Lower Volumes that Is. I think of the Galaxie as more Of a ROCKYMNTWAY TONE . JMHO tHAT EZG SOUNDS SO TASTY!
