Hello all, has anyone used the eurodampers from euro tubes on their el84s. I have a Maz 18 combo. The el84s rattle quite a bit with certain notes and high volumes. I'd love to hear about anyones experience with these or other dampers, and whether or not they are effective in minimizing the rattling noise. thanks.

Are these more for el84's or are they beneficial for other tubes?

You can use the same size on EL84s or any preamp tubes, also very useful with the EF86. They will help keep a preamp tube from going completely nuts (oscillation).

Thanks Lefty, I was thinking of my ef-86, I currently have the sleeve version that has a clamp that goes on top. Any difference between the two? As to what is more stable?

My Route 66 camp back from the Doc with a tube cover and what looks like opaque white jell between the top and the tube of the EF-86.
Hmm dampers seem like they would be an easier solution.

They help with tube noise on a Maz 18 for sure.

Thx for the info guys! Nice price on those sets. My Ghia 1x10 is getting noisy though I can't quite tell if its the 84s or the 5Y3. I've have those cheap Sovtek 5AR4s get the rattle, too.
