I had my first gig yesterday since my Antidote arrived. Man, I love this amp. Just what I've always wanted out of a Z amp. So FAT, thick & chewy are words that come to mind....yet cuts though like all Z's. I had both volumes at 8:30 o'clock with 3 then 2 clicks on the AirBrake. The gig was supposed to be an outdoor event, ( a block party/fund raiser ) for a small local church. But due to rain, it was moved into the gym. Hard floors and walls, but the high ceiling was acoustic ceiling tiles. The sound wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. This band plays mostly classic rock, contemporary Christian, and some country thrown in for good measure. So not a loud rock band, but surely not coffee house volumes. The Antidote proved it can excel at medium/low volume gigs with ease. I was excited that it was gonna be an outside show.....and first gig with my new amp. When I was told it had been moved inside, I was tempted to just take my Maz Jr. It would have gone great. Then I thought the Z28 w/ 4-10 would be just right. And would have.... Then I said, what the heck, I'm taking the Big Boy amp! Really glad I did. I am really enjoying the EQ bypass along with the Timmy & Flying Lizard on my Nano board. Many shades of OD and volume levels along with great touch sensitivity with the guitar volume. Almost too many choices to choose from. I could easily get by with just the EQ bypass and GV. Again...LOVE THIS AMP!! Here are a couple of photo's...not great...but proof!

Cool Pic's Mark. I'm glad everything worked out. Bummer about the move indoors. I'll bet you would have loved to take advantage of the outdoor environment to unleash the beast just a tad more. I can hear ya from here and it sounds glorious!

Yep ! It will do the small medium stuff too. I'm loving this thing w/ an Attenuator. I have put on a few lbs over the Winter so I still wear my Big-Boy-Pants...Even for the small stuff. The Antidote is a great amp. I'm gonna try my other (Brand) amp on Wednesday. I'm going out with my dote' 4 times after that for the Memorial Day weekend.

Nice rig, Mark--bet she sounded HUGE. Thanks Jon. Yes, HUGE is a great word to describe the tone of this amp. And yes, this amp can be LOUD, but sounds HUGE at low volumes too.

Thanks Mark! This amp is really something else. It is a loud mother sucker, but the AirBrake tames it down nicely. I thought the Z28 was thick. This thing has grunt, milkshake thick, deep down, get down, boogie woogie swamp tones that still cut through all at small, gig friendly volumes... ....with the AirBrake that is. I liked the RXES, Remedy, Z Wreck, (the 30 or more watt Z's I've owned) but this is the one is the one I've been looking for. It's the do it all amp for me. If I could only have one amp, this would be the one.

Mark.... You know I really did NOT need to hear/read any of this thread...... Man, that A-Dote has got me aroused!!!!! The Z amp to end all Z amps! In my opinion of course. One 12....two 12's......four 10's....all great. Love this amp Lee. Order one up any time.

I love it when my other ''Rock God'' Guitar player in my louD))) band turns up and tries (not intentionally) to drown me out...one click on the BL and YowZa ! I wish the dynamics thing would sink in with that band. Oh well still playin' and that's my thing. I'm glad I have a lower volume Rock/Blues band, a Duo and a Country thing going on. When the bar owners don't want the ''loud'' band back, they will say; ''I wonder why we don't get a lot of bookings'' Dah!!!! I hope they learn. Oh yea the A-Dote...I like that better than the Dote'. I have had this gem for two months and it's My New #1. Don't let the Remedy thread see this chatter.

Congrats Mark! Sounds like the Antidote is a huge hit. If I was to get another Z it would prob be the dote. I got to stay out of the antidote section! I been down this road before and bad things happen! Very cool pic's too thanks for the awesome review.

Maybe you could break out that Zoom and give us a little listen!, I really need to do that Mark.....if for no other reason, just for you and all the help you've given me. Soon! I actually thought about taking the Zoom to that gig, but have not uploaded some other footage I have and don't know enough about it not to erase things I already have. Need to get into it.
