The MAZ 8 will drive a 2x12 without any trouble at all. In fact, you could drive a 4x12 with it if you wanted to.
Enjoy! Eddie

I'm running mine exclusively through a 2x12. Two WGS speakers right now, a Reaper and a Veteran 30.
It rocks!

Avatar cabs are pretty nice. My son has the same cab in black. It's a very big cabinet. If you want different speakers or a different cabinet, check out www.avatarspeakers.com. Dave is very good to deal with, and probably the best prices on Celestion speakers. All kinds of colors and combinations of speakers. Have fun. PS Dave is offering free shipping on that Vintage 2X12 cabinet right now. P

My Maz 8 fires up a Dr Z Best Cab with a WGS Reaper 55 and a WGS ETS 65! And it rocks!

As long as the cabinet is plugged into the output that matches the impedance of the cabinet, everything should be fine.

Maz 8 into a 2 x 12" yields a mighty awesome sound.

Sure, it can "handle" a 2x12 if you are asking if you will damage anything. Just as long as the impedance is correctly matched everything will be OK. The real issue is whether you are pushing the speakers with enough power to get them in their sweet spot. A speaker's frequency response is not linear throughout it's power handling range. With most guitar speakers you need to push them well into their range to get their characteristic overtones and cone breakup. If you're looking for a really full sounding cabinet you might be better served with something like one 12" speaker in a 2x12 sized box.
