Man O Man! What a ride- THANK YOU Dr Z! This amp is sounds huge! Love it. Just what the Dr ordered...oops..I mean, Just what I ordered and the good Dr delivered! Big, thick lows, punchy mids and sweet, sparkly highs. NO FIZZ! Love it. Shares some similarity's with the Remedy, but fits my needs and ears better. Like the Remedy, it sounds great with the AirBrake knocking off some volume. Much more beautiful lower volume clean tones to my ear. And smoother breakup with great clarity. Tried it with my Tele, Les Paul & I-35LC so far. Love it. I found my "Big" Z amp! Thanks again Doc! ...and Brent at Guitar Riot! ......Just got off the phone with Susan @ Studio Slips. Z labeled brown dbl padded clamshell on the way. More to come....gotta go plug back in. Did I say I love it???

beautiful lower volume clean tones I agree, with a friendly amendment "beautiful clean tones at lower volume knob settings" -- it's still plenty loud, don't you think? Have you pushed the eq bypass button in Modern mode? Don't forget the big-boy pants.

I wrote my first words about this amp after I had played it a little over an hour. And that was though 2 Tone Tubby AlNiCo's. Great! I then brought the amp downstairs an sat it atop my Z 4-10 cab. Speechless! Magical I say!! This is the tone I was hoping for and wanting out of my Clark Piedmont (Tweed Bassman Replica) but never got.
I love the BIG, BOLD, FAT tone this amp delivers. I've been playing it mostly unattenuated clean and semi-clean and pushing it with at Beano Boost...ala Clapton Mayhall era. (Marshall w/ Dallas Rangemaster tones!)
I thought at first I would like the Vintage setting best, but the Modern voicing is awesome too. More gain and an upper mid boost. Dr Z describes this amp perfectly.
I love my Z28 and always will, but this amp has a louder, beautiful clean tone that I have been looking for. While the Remedy & Z Wreck sounded great for me, the Antidote is the amp Ive been hoping for. Again, as others have said, the amp sounds terrific at low volumes...even 8am on both volumes is awesome. Sounds even better as the volumes are turned to the right. The Dr Z clarity is ever present, but all around thicker tone is what this amp is all about.
Love it!

I'd like to try it with a 4x10 cab. I would assume 4x10 + vintage = magic

Hey Lee, Are you reading this? Yeah I did, Dave....and sadly, I was a big part of Mark dropping coin on both ends of his Piedmont venture..... Unfortunately, Clark was using different components when Mark's was built as compared to the Piedmont you and I enjoyed.....I wish I had that one back, Pal!!!!!

Dang Lee, I hope you don't feel bad about that Piedmont deal. You didn't twist my arm....too bad. I really wanted to love that amp, ,but it was just not for me. But like I said, the Antidote through the 4-10 AlNiCo Golds is in the same ball park, just bigger, fatter, louder and just plain better......with none of the fizz the Clark had.
