Pics and commentary eventually. I will say that Modern mode + EQ bypass engaged may require XXL pants

Come on Mike. Give us sumpin'. Good to have you back BTW... Ok, Steve, my first thought was "This amp can cover a lot of bases. It could be the only amp you need." Upon reflection, I'd probably add "for some musical styles." I'll expand on that over the next couple days. Planning to set up an a/b with the Remedy today or tomorrow.

Hi Mike... congrats on your new toy!
Is it possible if I can come up to ya and fire that badboy up? I love to hear it first before I pull the trigger?

I started the Remedy / Antidote a/b. It is not going to be easy or quick, but it will be fun. Of course, I get distracted by cool tones and forget to stick to anything resembling a "test" discipline.
Notes:
1. So far, I have all equivalent knobs set identically; Presence at noon on the Antidote. (Settings: B 9 (o'clock) M noon T noon Hi Vol 11 Lo Vol 9:30; Remedy in full power mode) 2. Running through a Brake Lite into a Z Best. (Had BL on 4 most of the time; my ears can't take doing this for hours without the attenuation.) 3. Have only used my EC Strat so far. 4. Antidote in vintage mode (EQ bypass not engaged) seems a little quieter than the Remedy; Antidote modern pretty close. I will stick a dB meter in the room for the next stage. (EQ bypass engaged makes Anti a lot louder, but not a fair comparison as my Rem does not have the bypass -- yet!) 5. Anti is brighter and cleaner; did not try to adjust the perceived brightness with the Presence knob. Remedy is a bit woolier and has more hair on the notes. Of course, I have not tried to set each amp's EQ to try to match them up in frequency response. In other words, I have no view on whether one can make the Rem sound somewhat like the Anti and vice versa. I don't recall seeing anything from Dr Z on similarities / differences in amps' front end design.
Yesterday I ran the Anti through the 4x10. I think I like the pairing with the Z Best a little better, but don't hold me to that.
I expect you MI guys will do your own comparison once Mike/jaguarguy's amp arrives.

Thanks for the comparison Mike. That sounds a lot like my experience with my JTM45RI vs Remedy. I'm sure the Antidote sounds closer to an original JTM than mine though. Much less $$$ than an original and more reliable to boot. Sounds like another winner from the good Dr.
