What amp are you using? Im liking the Legend with a RT66 but its a custom cab...see this thread for some background...it has a 10 and a 12. It can get a little bright but nothing that a tweak of my teles tone knob wont cure

Hi messenger, it seems most speaks start to loosen up a bit in about 10 hours or so, some are said to take as much as 30, to really get there. The 125 has a lot of the characteristics of the Vintage 30, which is strong mids and top end. In fact i find the V-30 harsh in a lot of rigs, kind of fatiguing some times. A lot of folks combine the 125 in a 2-12 cab with a speaker with more bottom, to balance out the responce a bit. So what ya have is a pretty bright speaker with a whith a bright amp, ( IMHO ).
The Cab is an unknown to me, but i would recomend two things, #1, me personally, i'd go with a little darker speaker with the MAZ, or at least a little flatter eq'd one. The Eminence 121 is really balanced and versatile, but will be a little cleaner giving you a bit more headroom and volume, or the Gb12 if you want to stay clearly in the celestion camp. Its got a bigger bottom and a smoother creamy'er top, and can still be overdriven a bit, or a swampthang,... its a little darker than the 121 and louder, if that fits the bill. #2, i would ckeck out earcandycabs. com They make incredible sounding cabs, and are VERY reasonably priced. Good luck!

Rc, yeah that would probably sound positvely huge! ... Messenger, i own a Soverign 1-12 from ear candy. Its super high grade birch ply with mohagany baffle and back, two front ports, with the 121 legend. It's the first time a cab actually blew me away! ( well, ... the Z best is up there too ). It's really small height and width, but 16'' deep, ... and i cant beleive the sound that comes out of it. So many 1-12's are kinda beamy, and you have to get them up off the floor to hear well, ... well not so here. It has a pretty amazing spread to the sound but stays tight, focused, and punchy. You'll dig the sustain and musicality of it. i dont often rave about anything, but this guy deserves serious attention, he builds his cabs with the mindset that its a musical instrument, and it performs as such. Cheap too, relative to the market, mine was $ 330.00 delivered !!

thanks telemanic, everything i've read about ear candy cabs sounds good. my only concern is that it won't match the maz.....but then it will probably never be in better homes & gardens anyway
