Anybody have any experience A/Bing the Studio Combo VS the Standard combo? I'm wondering if there are any tonal sacrifices that result from the smaller size of the Studio Combo (boxy sounding, less low end, etc). Any insight you might have is appreciated.
Thanks!

Good question... I've played both cabinets, though at different times and different rooms so i may not be much help. I was able to turn each one up pretty high though, and to me, I didn't notice a huge difference, probably because I find that the studio cab does have a pretty good bass response, especially on the floor. Both amps had g12h's in them as well. I love the studio cab... I have an 18 in one as well.

The studio sounds a bit smaller, maybe, depending on the speaker. With the Maz 18 studio, I'd strongly recommend a Gold--plenty big, plenty loud, plenty rich. The stock G12H didn't impress me as much, although it sounded good.

Thanks for the insight guys. Looks like a Studio cab Maz 8 might be in my future.

I've not done a side-by-side, but I concur 100% with Eric (roscoenyc). Studio cab sounds very good. It fills a room quite nicely with sound.

Read this thread yesterday on the way to the studio.
I fired mine up for an overdub yesterday and used the internal Blue (instead of going to the 2x12" open back Z cab) and it sounded terrific.
