So, I got a 16ohm Mazerati combo. I want a 2X12 to add to that. What are my options in regards to hooking the extra cab to the amp?
I have a V30 in the combo and would like 2 different speakers in the 2X12. Does the cab need to be 16 ohms or something else? Thanks

The cab needs to be the same impedance as the internal speaker of the combo for the best sound. So if the speaker in your amp is in fact a 16 ohm (check it to be sure. It'll say right on it) then you'll need a 16 ohm cab.

Yep. Then plug both into the 8 ohm jack. You'll probably need to make or buy a "Y" cable to do this. You do NOT want speakers plugged into more than one jack on the back of the amp. That would be bad.

Thanks again guys, I guess one could find that speaker "Y" spliter at a music store. So, does that make them series or parallel? Or do those terms not apply here?

Two 16 ohm impedances in parallel equals 8 ohms total. That would be good. If you put two 16 ohm impedances in series, that would be 32 ohms. That would be bad...

Thanks Bent. +1 when I can.
