First new record from the Del-Lords (my band from the '80's) in over 20 years. Recorded at my studio w probably 90% Dr Z amps (MAZ 18, MAZ 8, Z-28 & Ghia) Record comes out May 14. We put together this video press kit. Has some live stuff in it too w the Ghia.

I really enjoyed the video Eric! That was fun - can't wait for release of it. Were you going straight into Ghia. What speaker was loaded into it?

Thanks Jaguarguy.
The Ghia in the video was w the 10" Red Fang. I was using my nano board. Pitch Black/Deep Blue Delay/Mellow Yellow Tremolo/Brooklyn Overdrive.
I only use the OD for solos.

...and guys, when the Del-Lords are playing within a decent radius, you need to get out and see them. The music is fun and the band is dynamic. I can't wait until they do more shows in my area!
Great video Eric!! GREAT!

I came across this in doing a bit of research and thought it would would be fun to see how far they have come since 1986 (I hope Eric agrees). Martha, Martha. Plus, how cool doing a tour with Lou Reed - I mean, really.

Yeah, Our release date for the record was officially May 14th. I can't tell if it was a clerical error or just the digital pipeline working super fast but the record showed up on iTunes yesterday. The electric guitars are at least 80% Dr Z on the whole record. We are hustling to get CD's to our web store for next week but in the meantime all the digital outlets have the record?!!? I'm going to go to thebahn Mac later as that is where I keep all my iTunes and DL the Del-Lords "Elvis Club"... I'm sure Jules White will be proud!

So I have the house to myself today... Played the "Elvis Club" on the big Steereeoh and decided I should get something done... So I move out to the bahn and crank it... well I start to change a pup in my 51RI P/Tele-Bass, but I found myself doing air guitar and turned it up even more... Not getting much done so I'm on the third run and I turned it down and got the pup cavity shielded and am starting the solder. A few of these I was already familiar with from the "Under Construction" EP. I'm not going to get into the tones, lyrics, musicianship, artistry, or engineering, but "When the Drugs Kick In" grabs you then "Princess" has the riff and you're grabbed again immediately. "Chicks, Man" with that country blues lick and beat takes you on a ride. I could go over every piece of fine tuna here but, I'm not... the guitar solos meandering into wanking? NOPE! Not on this rekkid. Every open string, power chord, driven note and picked or fingered string counts... the "less is more" or "quality not quantity" statement is defined on many levels even though it's thick and full. "Me and the Lord Blues" gets a shout out from me! As does "Letter (Unmailed)" and "Damaged"... yeah all of em! The hooks are what I call "of the influential." "Elvis Club" makes sense, and this Del-Lords is some Rocking Americana at it's best, and while you can hear and feel the inspiration and influences of the music, these guys OWN it (for lack of a better term.) I love this rekkid... as they used to say when rekkids were made right (like this one is) "Made Loud To Be Played Loud!!" It works here. The cool thing is that it's the Del-Lords and the musical angst and edge are there along with a certain maturity, but it's still the Del-Lords. Every song stands on it's own... Like I said above, "they own them" (even if they don't.) The last 15 seconds of the rekkid is something I think we can all relate to and brought a huge smile to my face. This will make for some great live shows. ...and Scott Kempner is behind the lyrics. I had to say that! del-lords.com/lyrics/lyrics-elvis-club/
