Anyone ever try a KT45 with Z's 10"'?? If so, what did you think of that config?

I really like the punch of the Z 2x10s especially with the EF86 front! If I were going to gig the typical smaller clubs and bars that I play in, I'd have no problem with the KT45 and the Z 2x10... except the sweet spot is loud!
The Z-Beast is also a great cabinet with the KT45 and my next outdoor gig, I may use that config if I can talk my boiz into load in and load out on my behalf!

Well, I just returned my M12 to Humbucker. They're ordering a KT45 for me! I have two Z cabs. A 2x10 w/Z 10's, and a 1x12 w/ a Gold. I usually run the 12" Gold with my Remedy, so I was just wondering if I could get along with using my 2x10 with the KT45.
I finally got to hear a KT45 in person, and that was it! Finally, the sound I've been searching for!!! I can't wait to get her. Plus, I think she'll be a GREAT compliment to my Remedy!
Do all the current KT45's come with a solid state rectifier? Can you get it with a tube rectifier? I'm thinking I would like the tube rectifier a little better, but would be fine with solid state too.

I'm thinking I would like the tube rectifier a little better, but would be fine with solid state too. They do come with SS recto's, mine did and it was a bit too stiff/stout for my tastes. But it's a tube socket solid state rectifier so you can throw in a tube right when you get it. A GZ34/5AR4 should be able to go in without a rebias, lower voltage tube would require a rebias. The KT45 is a great amp and part of it is how you can tweak the feel with rectifiers and bias. I put in a 5V4 and tweaked the bias - believe it or not I get a lot of ZWreck vibe with it now. Just the right softness.

Just for fun I went and plugged my KT into the 2x10s of my JAZ 20/40 - Paul was right - a lot of punch there! Can you say, "The Who - Live at Leeds". When you get it try strumming a little "Pinball Wizard" with it - guaranteed to give you a smile!

What about the 1x10"? the Red Fang handles 75 watts so might be a good small club option for the KT

Ya know it's funny, when I made my reply above, I was tempted to just plug a 1x10 into the KT45, but after seeing how much a Monza, Z28 or Ghia pump the RF, I didn't do it... Something is telling me not to.

Haven't heard a Z 210 (in australia) but sounds great with 210 golds. That is a sweet 10" sound, and I'm guessing it would sound just as nice with Zs 10s.

It will sound quite different with Z 10s. Golds have a bright, chimey high end with lots of definition up there. The Z 10s are very mid-range heavy. It's all a matter of taste. For me, I didn't like the Z 10s - the mid-range hump is too big and it sounded kind of boxy to my ears. I had to change cabs and speakers. YMMV.
